Parks & Recreation
Welcome to Winter & Spring!
The new year brings new opportunities and a stronger resolve to live healthier and happier. Let Parks & Recreation play a part in your plan – participate in our programs, visit our parks and facilities, and take advantage of the many outlets created to educate, engage and connect our community. New offerings include historical programs at Freedom Park, a healthy eating nutrition course for teens, a sensory Easter egg hunt and Tai Chi for beginners! Your returning favorite special events include Fido Fest for you and your furry friends, New Town Tunes outdoor concerts and the Summer Jobs Fair where you can get paid to play! This edition also highlights our Group Fitness offerings and the role that social support, program variety and fun play in creating and maintaining a workout routine.
We’re Hiring too! Needed are lifeguards, Park Attendants, Recreation Leaders, Customer Service representatives, instructors and more. If providing outstanding customer service with passion is a position that you can fill, we want to meet you! Please apply online.
Please spend a few minutes with this edition of Destination Recreation and share it with your family and friends. This winter/spring edition details programs through March; look for the summer issue in mid-March and the fall edition in August. You can download the brochure or pick up a copy at the James City County Recreation Center, the Abram Frink Jr. Community Center, any Parks & Recreation public facility, the Satellite Services Office in Toano and at the James City County or Williamsburg libraries.
