About Us
The James City County Police Department provides police services in all areas of the County including community services, animal control, patrol, investigations and traffic enforcement. The Department also offers a wide array of crime prevention services, community outreach programs and citizen classes. We invite you to explore our website to find out more.
Our mission is to perform duties and fulfill responsibilities of enforcing the law, preserving the peace and providing police services in order to improve the quality of life for all citizens living in our jurisdiction. Our actions are driven by a philosophy of community policing. We provide a wide array of police services through patrol, general investigations, narcotics investigations, crime prevention, traffic and school resource officers.
The Department has more than 100 sworn law enforcement officers (including auxiliary) and responds to over 22,000 calls for service each year.
